intihar sebebini euronymous şöyle açıklamıştır:
dead şeytani insanlar için şeytani müzik yapmak isterdi. fakat tek gördüğü şey etrafta yürüyüş elbiseleriyle, şapkalarıyla, beyzbol ayakkabılarıyla barış ve aşk içinde gezen insanlardı. o bunlardan nefret etti ve zamanını bunlar üzerinde daha fazla harcamak için bir sebep görmedi.
