sanat eserleri restorasyonu ile uğraşan amanda (monica potter) new york’ta çok gösterişli bir apartman dairesini dört top model genç kızla paylaşmaya başlar. bu dört genç mankenin gösterişli yaşamlarına uyum sağlamakta sıkıntı çeken amanda, asıl sıkıntıyı -hep böyle birisi karşıma çıksın... diye dua ettiği, rüyalarının erkeği komşuları, yakışıklı jim watson’a (freddie prinze jr.) gönlünü kaptırınca yaşamaya başlar. etrafında tüm erkeklerin peşlerinde koştuğu dört manken varken onun kendisi ile ilgilenmeyeceğine emin olamayan amanda’yı kötü bir sürpriz daha beklemektedir. kızlar bu yakışıklı genç hakkında daha fazla bilgi edinmek için onu gizlice takip ederken onun işlediğine inandıkları bir cinayetle karşılaşırlar. amanda ve bu çılgın dört kız, anlam veremedikleri bu cinayeti çözmek için, ikinci sınıf detektifler gibi sokağa dökülürler ve gerçeği bulmaya çalışırlar. tabii ki başları da beladan hiç kurtulmaz. ama onlar bu işin sırrını çözmekte kararlıdır.
